MailRoute will automatically recognize that you are using Office 365 for your outbound service, so you do not need to enter an outbound mailserver in the MailRoute Control Panel.
Configuring Office 365 for outbound email flow to MailRoute:
- Click "+ Add a connector":

- Under "Connection from", choose "Office 365".
- Under "Connection to", choose "Partner Organization"
- Then click "Next":

- Give this new connector a name like "MailRoute Outbound" and a useful description (optional)
- Check the checkbox that says "What do you want to do after the Connector is saved?" Check to "Turn it On"
- Click "Next"

Under "Use of Connector"
- Select the "Only when emails are sent to these domains" radio button
- Type "*" (a single asterisk, without the quotation marks) and then click "+"
- Then click "Next"

- Choose the radio button "Route mail through these smart hosts"
- Enter "outbound.mailroute.net" (without the quotation marks" into the field below that radio button and click "+"
- Then click "Next"

- Select the checkbox "Always use Transport Layer Security (TLS) to secure the connection (recommended)"
- Select the radio button "Any digital certificate, including self-signed certificates"
- Then click "Next"
Under "Validation email", we can test to see if it's working.
- Enter in an email address at a different domain from your own, and click "+". You can use the same address as in our example, if you'd like. It's a simple test address we use to validate o365 connections.
- Click "Validate", and then wait a little while for it to check to see if things are working okay.
- You should see "Validation Successful"
- Click "Next"
Under "Review Connector", it should look something like this:
- Click "Create Connector"
- You should see:
