6:30pm PST. April 10, 2023
Our Los Angeles data center just alerted us that they have to perform emergency maintenance on their power system. Unfortunately, they cannot avoid performing the service because they went into a failover state and are currently running in bypass mode. The maintenance will start at 6:30 PM PDT and may last approximately 6 hours.
From our Datacenter provider:
Our critical power vendor during a routine preventative maintenance task has discovered a major fault with our a major UPS system in the datacenter pod of one floor of our Los Angeles facility. Currently this system is operating in static bypass and the vendors are not able to recover the unit. Due to this being a legacy UPS system(s), we will be replacing the unit with a new one. The existing unit does not have a separate maintenance bypass cabinet and in the course of replacing the unit, one will be installed. However, due to the lack of this functionality - all power will be disconnected from this unit for the duration of the maintenance.
